Cuban Goddess
Editorial
This was my first time working with a team on a stylized photoshoot and I could not have asked for a better team! We had a group of six talented and friendly women that were a fun blend of cultures from all over the world (being from California, the Netherlands, Cuba, Italy, the UK and New Zealand). We had some fabulous locations around Milan in mind and ended up stumbling upon some spots even more magical than we could have imagined, and the best shots came from those unexpected locations.
The day of the shoot it was humid and terribly hot, we were working in harsh sunlight and I was not using any reflectors or diffusers to balance out the light and I was nervous about how the shadows would affect the images. In addition to lacking equipment, it had been a while since I had done a real photoshoot because I hadn’t been working in photography since I moved to Milan this year.
Our model, Geylin, was amazing to work with and made my job so easy that I feel like I can hardly take credit for these photos. Our team did a great a great job of managing the hair, make-up, clothes and flowers while I focused on lighting and composition and Geylin just rocked it modeling. I am so excited about the images from this shoot, I couldn’t get them edited and posted fast enough!
