“Fridays For Future” Climate Strike

MUNICH, Germany – Young protesters gathered at the Rathaus on Friday for the weekly “Fridays For Future” climate strike to fight for climate justice through policy change. More than 150 participants in this week’s protest sang to inspiring songs and marched while pulling a firetruck through the city, eventually ending at Odeonsplatz. Their goal is to pressure government officials into complying with the 1.5 celsius target.
Fridays for Future marches are inspired by Greta Thunberg, who in 2018 mentioned that every Friday she strikes in front of Swedish Parliament. Following her lead students around the world skip school and gather every Friday in front of town halls and parliament buildings to demand change.
