Bridges Not Walls Protest in Reno

1 February 2017

RENO, Nev. – Another month of the Trump presidency, another anti-Trump protest. This time, the Reno Solidarity Project organized a “Bridges Not Walls” protest against the president’s anti-immigration actions and rhetoric, including his proposed “wall”.

An estimated 300 people attended the event, including members of ACLU of Nevada and ACTIONN. The atmosphere was mostly lighthearted and positive, a reflection of the aim of the protest, which was to show solidarity and support for immigrants in the city and across the country.

The crowd sang songs like “Let Them In”, followed chants, and held a moment of silence and lighted candles.
